Basic sprouted nuts
4 cups nuts
distilled water to cover the nuts by at least 1 inch
1 tablespoon sea salt
Let the nuts soak 8-12 hours at room temperature. Then dehydrate in the oven at 150 degrees (or lowest temperature) for 8-12 hours (you can also use a dehydtator). Cool and store in an airtight container. You can use these sprouted nuts plain, to make nut butters, nut milks, or nut flours/meals.
Nuts can be hard to digest because of the phytic acid and other enzyme inhibitors that they contain. As a nutritional therapist, I am trained in traditional nutrition approach to whole foods.
